Redesignating the A262 from an A to a B road

Goudhurst had commissioned a professional traffic management report to put the case to Kent County Council to redesignate the A262 to a B road and then to restrict the lorries that could use it. KCC refuted the report. Finance is being raised to commission a further report which it is understood can challenge the Kent approach. This is an important first action to secure better traffic management of the A262 and create safer high streets.

Speed and Lorry Watch

Action is being taken to put together teams in all three villages to carry out speed and lorry watch. This will generate necessary supportive information to manage traffic on the A262
